Custom Walnut Dining Table
The Wood
I build every walnut dining table by hand in my Portland workshop using locally salvaged Oregon black walnut. These are trees that survived decades of Oregon storms and seasons, and that struggle is what gives the wood its incredible character. The color alone sets it apart. Warm browns layered with purples, blues, reds, and grays that emerge from the grain in patterns that are never repeated. Every board tells its own story, and no two tables are ever the same.
The Source
I source exclusively through my partnership with Goby Walnut, one of the premier salvaged hardwood suppliers in the world, located right here in Portland. Having them in my backyard means I can hand-select every board that goes into your table in person.

The Finish and Steel
Each table is carefully joined and finished with Rubio Monocoat, a premium VOC-free hardwax oil known for its durability and pure, natural look. It brings out the full depth of the wood without sitting on top of it. The steel base is fabricated by In Front Metal, my Portland-based fabrication partner of more than ten years. Every base is built from American steel and available in naturally blackened or brushed steel for an organic, refined look. Functional art built specifically for you.
Leg Style Options
U Leg — Clean, strong, and timeless. A simple silhouette that puts the focus on the wood.
Trapezoid Leg — Tapers slightly as it meets the floor, creating a refined architectural profile that balances strength with elegance.
Curved H Leg — Vertical uprights flow into softly rounded inside corners with a horizontal bar raised just above the floor. The curves require precise fabrication that sets this base apart.
Blade Leg — Precision welded to create the seamless look of a single flat blade, angled outward for a bold sculptural stance.
Parsons Base — Four legs joined by a visible support skirt that becomes part of the design. Clean geometry that complements the wood without distraction.
Built to Your Size
Whether you need a six-person table for family dinners or a large statement piece, I can build to your exact dimensions. Pricing for standard sizes is above or get in touch for a customsize.
Built to Your Style
Building a table with me is a collaborative process. You'll work directly with me to choose the wood, the edge profile, and the details that make it yours.
Live Edge — The natural edge of the tree is preserved, giving your table an organic one-of-a-kind silhouette that celebrates the wood in its most natural form.
Straight Edge — Clean, crisp lines for a more refined look that works beautifully in modern and traditional spaces alike.
Bookmatched — Two consecutive boards from the same log are joined down the center so the grain mirrors itself perfectly from one side to the other. The result is dramatic and completely one of a kind.
