Custom Walnut Dining Table

I build every walnut dining table by hand in my Portland workshop using locally salvaged Oregon black walnut. These are trees that survived decades of Pacific Northwest storms and seasons, and that struggle is what gives the wood its incredible character: deep chocolate browns bleeding into warm golden sapwood, with flashes of red, purple, and blue you won't find in ordinary lumber. No two tables are ever the same.

All of my walnut comes from Goby Walnut, one of the most respected names in salvaged hardwood in the country. I drive down to their Portland yard personally to hand-select every board. [Learn more about my Goby partnership →]

Each piece is meticulously joined and finished with a hand-rubbed premium VOC-free oil, then paired with your choice of custom steel legs. Live edge, straight edge, or bookmatched - I'll build it to fit your space and style. Functional art built specifically for you.

Leg Style Options

Each set of legs is crafted from premium steel and finished in matte black or brushed steel, providing strength and contrast against the walnut top.

Built to Your Size

Whether you need a six-person table for family dinners or a statement piece for entertaining, I'll build it to your exact dimensions. Standard sizes are available, or we can create custom measurements to fit your home perfectly.

Built to Your Style

Building a table with Stumptown is a collaborative process. You'll work directly with me to define the look and feel you want, from wood tone and grain variation to overall design details. Each table reflects your vision and is crafted to suit your space.

Choose from three distinct top styles:

Live Edge - The natural edge of the tree is preserved, giving your table an organic, one-of-a-kind silhouette that celebrates the wood in its most natural form.

Straight Edge - Clean, crisp lines for a more refined look that works beautifully in modern and traditional spaces alike.

Bookmatched - Two sequential slabs cut from the same log are mirrored together, creating a dramatic symmetrical grain pattern that makes the tabletop a true centerpiece.

Not sure which style is right for your space? Get in touch and we can talk through the options together.
