Every madrone bench I build starts with boards full of personality. Madrone has a creamy base streaked with bold reds that set it apart from any other Northwest hardwood. It's dense, dramatic, and has a natural weight that makes even a smaller bench feel substantial. I select each board to highlight that striking contrast. Finished with VOC-free Rubio Monocoat, a hand-rubbed oil that keeps the wood looking and feeling like wood, then paired with your choice of custom steel legs.
Every bench is paired with custom steel legs fabricated by my longtime partner In Front Metal. Legs are finished with a natural blackening process for an organic matte appearance, or a polished brushed steel finish.
