I build every sapele console table by hand in my Portland workshop. Sapele, a West African hardwood, is prized for its ribbon-like, quarter-sawn figure and rich reddish-brown tone. Unlike local species, sapele offers a refined, almost architectural presence, with grain that catches light and shifts as you move around it. Finished with a VOC-free, food-safe oil, sapele consoles glow with warmth and elegance.
