Salvaged Wood with a Story
Every table starts with salvaged wood from urban and wild Pacific Northwest trees. These trees endured decades of seasons, drought, and storms, developing bold grain, rich color, and natural imperfections you won’t find in plantation-grown lumber. That history is what gives each slab its soul, and why no two Stumptown Reclaimed tables are ever alike.
The Woods I Work With
Oregon Black Walnut – Deep chocolate base tones, reds, purples, blues, and golden sapwood. Walnut has it all.
Madrone – Creamy base wood with bold red streaks. Dense and dramatic, it creates tables full of contrast and character.
Myrtle – Found only on the Southern Oregon and Northern California coasts, myrtle is a kaleidoscope of color with shimmering chatoyancy that shifts in the light.
White Oak – Timeless and strong, with dramatic ray flecks. Classic durability paired with natural beauty.
Reclaimed Fir – Salvaged from century-old Portland buildings, with warm patina, nail holes, and a story that lives on in every piece.
The Shop
When you order from Stumptown Reclaimed, you work directly with me. I hand-select salvaged wood from urban and wild Pacific Northwest trees, then build every table in my Portland shop with passion and love.
You’re welcome to stop by and see the process for yourself. In the shop you’ll find stacks of salvaged slabs, projects in progress, and the tools I use every day. Whether you’re ready to choose a slab for your custom commission or just want to see how the work is done, visiting the shop gives you a firsthand connection to the craft.
